The festival, which is now in its 12th year, showcases Spanish films by inviting audiences to enjoy a range films and talks across the month.
Events are spread across four venues in Edinburgh between Wednesday and October 19, with additional screenings in Manchester, Stirling, Inverness, Glasgow and Tranent.
The Fraser Centre is showing Spanish films on Thursday, Friday and next Friday (October 10) in its 108-seat cinema.
On Thursday, Los Aitas/Breaking Walls will showcase fatherhood in working-class Bilbao, northern Spain.
On Friday, the centre will screen EL47, inspired by the true story of Manolo Vital.
Desmontando Un Elefante/Dismantling An Elephant will be shown next Friday, exploring themes of family and addiction.
All films are screened in their original language alongside English subtitles.
Also on Friday, a Spanish wine tasting will be hosted by Catherine Boot from local supplier Wine Wednesdays.
It will feature an informal tutored tasting of five Spanish wines with canapes to match.
The festival offers accessible options, with British Sing Language interpreters at talks, descriptive captioning and free tickets for carers.
