I have never had store bought ones, but I learned that it is quite easy to make crispy onions in the air fryer, and I am obsessed. A little bit time consuming because you have to keep opening up the air fryer and giving them a stir, but relatively hands off apart from that. Mine were to top up a pumpkin miso pasta, but I think they will compliment so many soups, curries (particularly Indian ones), biryanis, and so much more. They are crispy, a bit chewy, and so delicious. Instructions below!
- Thinly julienne an onion, aiming for roughly 3mm width. I would recommend doing this process one onion at a time, unless you have a huge air fryer. The ones used here are Spanish onions, although I imagine sweet onions would work so well. Would be even better if you have a mandolin
- Preheat your air fryer to 300F (or 148C)
- Drizzle some olive oil and sprinkle some salt over top, massage it in with your hands, making sure to separate all the little individual onion strips
- "Fry" onions at 300F for 10 mins. If you're using a silicone liner, I would take them out, give them a stir, and put in for another 10 mins.
- Take out and stir. Reduce air fryer temp to 240F (116C), then "fry" for another 5 minutes.
- Repeat step 5 until they reach your preferred crispiness. Make sure to stir / shake them every 5 mins to ensure even cooking

Those look like some bomb ass shrooms.
Oh thank you this will be a godsend for my lazy boy biryani
Why the like? Makes cleaning easier? That’s the reason why I stopped using my air fryer. The grease is a pain to clean out
Bouta do that STAT. Like some onion chips
