Ok salsa snobs… is it bad if Kroger brand is actually my favorite brand of jarred salsa??
Anyone else? Or just me? 😛
I also really like Frog Ranch- I added a photo of that one as well!

It’s probably made by the same people who make tostitos or some other brand name salsa. Kroger doesn’t make it themselves, they contract it out to others (for example the Simple Truth chicken is from Perdue).

Renfros is the only jarred salsa I feel is good. Pace is second with the status of alright. And 3rd is trader Joe’s with decent at best. Good is a 6/10, alright is a 5/10, and decent is a 4/10. Compared to a 8-9 from the local Mexican restaurant

You can just buy some fresh ingredients and make one in 15 minutes . I add el pato to mine and some Kroger tomato sauce for half for my wife and daughter so its not too spicy

I don’t think it’s a bad thing. You like what you like. I think about food reviews (or any kind of reviews, really, especially movies) and it really comes down to personal preferences, I think. Sure, friend 1 might agree with you that store brand x is better than store brand y but, in the end, you’re still friends and you like what you like.
That being said, try experimenting with recipes and tweak them towards your own tastes and preferences. Pretty soon you’ll just make it all yourself. In general, salsa is fairly simple to make and even I could make one. I managed to ruin Marie Callendar’s corn bread from a bag. I mean, 3 or 4 steps? Okay, not really ruined but wasn’t as good as it should have been. Anyway, just experiment and enjoy!

Salsa snobs (in a good way) only make it fresh.

If it makes you happy, that is all that matters

Jar salsa never has enough cilantro. And I just learned that some people think cilantro tastes and smells like soap!!! WTF?!
