A new Italian restaurant serving up pizzas and pasta dishes has opened up on the site of a former Michelin star restaurant in Bristol. Limone Ristorante now sits inside what was previously Casa and its Michelin-starred predecessor, Casamia.
Located at The General on Guinea Street, Limone is described as a ‘new favourite Italian restaurant situated in the historic building on Bristol’s floating harbour’. It boasts a ‘stylish’ bar area, serving up a wide range of beers, spirits, wines, cocktails and liqueurs, as well as a menu of Italian food that includes a range of starters, pasta dishes, pizzas, other Italian mains and desserts.
At time of writing, Limone lists a number of menus on its website, including a lunch deal with any pizza or pasta for £10.55, Tuesday to Saturday, from 12-2.30pm. Pizzas on the menu include classics like margherita and Hawaiian, as well as a vegetarian, prosciutto, and more.
Pasta dishes include spaghetti bolognese, carbonara, lasagne, seafood linguine, and other items on the mains menu include risotto, steaks and fish. Limone Ristorante will be open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch (12-2.30pm) and dinner (5-10pm).

BristolLive reported back in October 2024 that Casa had closed its bookings and was displaying an ‘important notice’ on its website, which read: “At this moment, we are closed for future bookings. If you’re looking to book a restaurant, please check out our sister restaurant, Paco Tapas.
“All vouchers for Casa will be honoured at Paco Tapas. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact us at info@casamiarestaurant.co.uk. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you soon!”
Those who contacted the restaurant using the email address provided then receive an immediate response confirming it was ‘closed until further notice’, which read: “Thank you for contacting Casa. We would like to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful customers for their support.”
Casa opened on the former site of the Michelin-starred Casamia in late October 2022, and was run by Casamia owner Peter Sanchez-Iglesias and his family. Peter is also known for being the head chef at Spanish restaurant, Decimo in London, as well as Casa’s sister restaurant, Paco Tapas, which sits just doors away from Casa, on Lower Guinea Street. In February 2024, Paco Tapas lost its Michelin star which it had held since 2017.
Following Casamia’s closure back in May 2022, Casa was added to the Michelin Guide after just four months of service. The Michelin Guide described it by saying: “The soundtrack is pumping and the open kitchen bustling, at the Sanchez-Iglesias family’s reinvention of what was previously Casamia restaurant.
“The modern Italian small plates burst with flavour: the fried semolina with parmesan is a great way to start, the pasta dishes are exceptional, and the tiramisu uses a secret family recipe. Service is nicely paced and attentive.”
