Mafea, which took over the former Pizza Hut restaurant on Horsemarket, opened to the public in late May.
But shortly after, the restaurant fell silent, with no posts on Facebook since June and two customers claiming they arrived for a booking to find the venue closed.
Mafea logos on the front of the unit have now been removed.
The menus formerly taped to the windows have also been taken down and the imprint of a Pizza Hut logo, previously covered by the signage, can be seen on the paintwork.

The restaurant is yet to publicly address the speculation over its future, despite multiple attempts by The Northern Echo to make contact last month.
It comes as the property remains up for sale with a £210,000 price tag, described as a “prime town centre leisure investment” producing £20,000 per year.
However, the building remains under lease with Mafea until at least January 2028.
First announced in February, Mafea served up pasta, steaks, lasagnes, and pizza from a traditional stone oven when open to punters.
The Echo previously reported how the venue, which was the latest venture from Viacheslav Pedchenko, who ran the Wynd Café & Bistro on Post House Wynd, hoped to revamp the interior and add some outdoor seating before launching to the public.
The Wynd Café & Bistro has also since closed.
