If there’s no hot dog in there the name needs work. Sardine roll like lobster roll comes to mind but isn’t very snappy.

When I was a kid, we’d (way too often) have hot dogs, but no buns. Hot dog on sliced white bread. Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth! Seeing sardines on a bun leaves me with deeply mixed feelings. Horror! Envy!
