Nitrate free cure for a week then smoked low. It got up to temp quick and I had to pull it after 3 hours. I don’t have a cold smoker so I’m trying to figure out how to get more smoke on it. I used a smoke tube too, assuming that didn’t contribute too much heat. Anyone else done this and have ideas, tips or even recipes?

Smoke tubes are something I see a ton about. I’m going to doing a similar cook soon and will go on smoke boost on my searwood plus smoke tube and a water pan to hopefully cool it down in there

I got quite a bit of smoke at 170f smoker temp on for about 5 hours using Hickory pellets.

  3. I like to smoke 8hrs, rest 24 then a second 8hr smoke. But, I cold smoke mine, only with a pellet tube

  4. I have various grills for exactly this circumstance.

I find my pellet smoker provides a lighter smoke and using a smoke tube still just doesn’t kick it up enough.

I smoke all my bacon on a webber kettle.
