I live in NC and while Pupusas are shockingly easy to find here (in my small suburb alone we have at least 7 places that have them, 4 of which are strictly Pupuserias), outside of the Latino community most people here have never heard of them.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to explain what a pupusa is to someone I know lol
