La Azteca Tortillería – Chile Relleno burrito and Agua de Tamarindo
the tortilla is sooo good here and the best i’ve had in LA by far. the Chile relleno itself was tasty and tender, the salsa i think was chile de árbol with chipotle maybe? it was quite smokey and spicy not the best pairing imo for the chile relleno but as individual items they were really good and i finished the salsa anyway lol. the agua was super refreshing and great!
Papa’s Churro truck at the parade – Churro Relleno de Cajeta.
not much to say it was a good churro and they actually fill it with the cajeta which i love when places do this instead of just giving you a cup of it to dip into. and it had plenty of filling too.
Mi Casita Poblana – Mole Poblano
this place is really nice for the decoration as much as the food. it’s decorated beautifully and vibrantly. before what i ordered i was served a soup of elbow pasta with some tomato consomé, it was pretty bland and i only had a couple spoonfuls. the mole itself was really great i only wish i got chicken breast instead of drumsticks as that made it a bit harder to eat (i wasn’t given a choice) the rice and beans were nothing special but it came with 3 house made blue corn tortillas that were pretty big and i could tell they were freshly made.
Tacos A Cabron – Quesadilla de Al Pastor, 2 Tacos de buche, agua fresca de fresa con leche
so good, i’m so glad they do the quesadillas with corn tortillas because that elevated it to another level for me. the buche was also cooked perfectly, crunchy yet tender, the agua fresca was great too. i wish their salsa was spicier but overall great taco spot
