Good morning. Today we are going to make this Arabic sweet basa. So first of all you put four cups of seimolina in a bowl. Then in a separate bowl you are going to put one cup of yogurt with 5 g of uh baking soda and 15 g of baking powder and then mix well and leave it aside. So it will grow a little bit. You’ll see the reaction. You use this in a few minutes. Then back to your simulina bowl, you just uh put half2 cup of sugar and uh half cup of ghee. Mix it very well. You can mix it with your hand if you like. Then you add two spoon of um of butter. It’s better to melt a little bit the butter. Then that mix for your good you just mix all together. Now you’ll see that this yogurt would become bubbly. This is the right um consistence. Now you just mix all very well by your hand is better. I try to use my hand is clean actually by the way. Uh I tried to make with gloves before but it’s thick. It’s not good. I don’t like to use gloves. So just wash your hand very good and that’s it. You use your own hand. See it why is important for to melt the butter a little bit before I just took straight from the fridge. So I need now to be pressing to melt this butter. But it’s okay. You just wait a little bit. Now you take um you take a tray and marinate some uh and put uh spread all around uh your tray with tahina. And then you start uh spreading your mix around. In this uh recipe, I did uh a little bit bigger um uh tray. You can do a smaller tray than that. For this recipe, you need a medium size tray. You just try to spread all around. It’s okay to press a little bit because it will it will grow up. You’ll see the results later. Try to fill all these spaces exactly like I’m doing. Now you take a knife or uh I have a tool like I don’t know how it called this tool but as you can see you can take a tool like this sharpen and uh to make it very straight your paste. And then you start cutting all by square or rectangles. You make um a cuts like I’m I’m going to do now. make all the cut in all your paste. So when it bake already you is already is very easy. You don’t need to cut on time because this paste uh is a little bit um how can I say it’s not it’s so stick together because we don’t use normal flour we use simolina. If you use the normal flour it will stick more together because of the gluten. Uh so it’s important to do this um this cut that you see I’m doing. So when it’s baked already, you just remove it on the side. It’s very easy to put in the plate. And then uh you spread after you finish you spread all um you spread um all um almond in all squares you put half slice of almond on the top of them. And I forgot to say uh before you start to make uh this gish is is better to put this almond half like this on the water so you be more moisturized. So when you finish a uh your paste it’s ready. You should uh put maybe 10 15 minutes on the water. It is better. And then after you finish all you put uh for baking 160 170° until it’s uh brown on the top. It’s very uh quick cooking baking. It’s very quick. It’s very good dish. You can serve for your friends when they come to your home. You can make for your family. [Music] It’s very nice. This syrup to make the syrup you should uh make uh two two cups of sugar and one cup of water and one lemon. Squeeze one lemon and then mix it very well and put on the fire and cook for around 10 15 minutes boiling and then leave it aside. It’s very easy to make this syrup. And then when you remove this um sweet from from the oven, you just spread this on the top because you if you see before we put only half cup of sugar. Now is what are you going to make the difference is this syrup and also the lemon makes all the difference. It’s important to put the lemon also. Okay.
