A few months ago, I wanted to make a cake for me, myself, and I, because I rarely do that now that I run a blog. I wanted there to be no pressure of getting the cake perfect or to even look perfect. I ended up making a banana cake (because I had a on of overripe bananas), and paired it with a Biscoff cream cheese frosting, then added some drizzled Biscoff butter on top. I took one bite and almost gasped! It was so good. My husband (who is really not a banana cake lover) ate multiple slices.

I then made it for my co-workers, and multiple people asked for the recipe (I didn't quite have a recipe on my blog yet, so I just gave them similar recipes from my blog to piece together), and someone even ordered a cake from me, which I normally don't take orders, but I thought, "why not?"

This past week I made it again because my husband wanted to impress his new co-workers with my baking, so I made this cake. And at first he said, "banana?" And I said, "Absolutely!" He texted me 10 minutes after he arrived at work saying the cake was all gone. It wasn't even 7am! He had people stopping him the hallway who he had never met complimenting him on the cake. He even had multiple people ask if they could order it.

Now, don't get me wrong, there's nothing fancy about this cake. It's just banana cake (quite moist, lightly spiced and delicious). But I think the combination of banana+biscoff really gets people's taste buds going.

So, if you want to impress people, just bake them a banana cake with biscoff cream cheese frosting and you'll have people knocking on your door for the recipe. 😉

    Looks delicious! YUM!

But I don’t understand how YOU making a cake helps HIM impress his co-workers. You are your own person and not an extension of him. And your labor is not something he gets credit for.

Love it! I made a pantry cake recently with banana and biscoff too and it really surprised me too!

Looks delicious, thank you for sharing the recipe. I will trying to bake it. Is the cake too sweet ? Well maybe I can cut a little bit of the sugar

I could impress my coworkers so much if I too had a wife 🫠😇

I like the presentation. It’s not typical to just slather the frosting and decorations on with no regard for the cake border, but it really works here. It makes the cake look generous and heaping with tastiness, similar to how one might frost a cinnamon roll.

First off, you are a star!

I’ve got some overripe bananas and actually never know what to do with them and always end of throwing them away.

I don’t like banana, and the only reason I buy them is when I crave banana-peanut butter milkshake.

Thanks for sharing. Your post was the first that popped up on my timeline as soon as I opened the app.❤️

I won my office bake off the last year I was at the company and it is still one of the crowning achievements in my career AND surprisingly boasted my reputation among coworkers.

If you don’t want to take orders – I totally get that. But, if it’s not too much trouble – send the hubby in with something for the competition. It could honestly make him have a better work environment – and in this day and age – that’s almost priceless.
