In don’t know where you people live to think food should not come on some kind of container, a plate, pan or something else.
I have eaten plenty of communal type of foods and never seen it being dropped on the table with sauce dripping on my lap, that’s unacceptable.

There was/is a place in Vegas that does this. The whole restaurant is single use plastic. Everyone’s meal is a bag, the tablecloth is plastic, the cutlery was plastic.

I’m from New England. Dumping seafood boils on a table covered in newspaper is something I grew up with.
But that juice being wasted makes me sad. Dump it in a huge salad bowl or something. Some good bread needs to be dipped in that juice

This is how a lot of folks eat a seafood boil but the problem is the boil itself. It should be drained. The seafood should have seasoning and a veneer of sauce clinging to it.

My dad did the same thing after 5yrs in federal prison.
They called it “garbage bag nachos”. Shitty Doritos, Velveeta type cheese, summer sausage, and squeeze packets of onion paste. All the shit they could get at the commissary. Toss the nachos in a plastic bag, heat up the cheese, cut the sausage, and throw it all in the bag. Shake it up and boom, garbage bag nachos.
