I've always thought the Espresso was made to be enjoyed within two minutes. It's a fast drink and very intense, never meant to sit on a table like tea. Every second after two minutes an espresso is wasted. Out of respect for the beans, for Italian culture and for the ever-loved Espresso, I try to limit its pairing to the first third of the cigar, at most.

But the initial flavors of this cigar, which include pepper, hazelnuts, vanilla, oak and damp earth, paired with an espresso (even a homemade one) are such a simple but evolving experience. Precisely because the remaining thirds of the War Hawk are to be enjoyed with something else.

Sometimes it's as simple as that. And today that's as far as I want to go.
