High protein post gym MD meal

  1. This sub gets a lot of questions about how to combine an MD way of eating with higher protein requirements. Whilst I think most people massively over estimate how much protein they really need (and underestimate how much they are already eating), it is still valid to think some MD meals are lower in protein than is ideal for some athletic people. So thought I would post this to show it is definitely possible to eat higher protein whilst being MD compatible.

    Clockwise from top:

    – Chicken drumsticks roasted with Spanish paprika, garlic, powder, salt and olive oil for 1 hour
    – Lemony butter beans with dill (I just used this recipe: https://www.themediterraneandish.com/butter-beans-with-garlic-lemon-and-herbs/#wprm-recipe-container-74495 )
    – Roasted romanesco cauliflower with salt, pepper and olive oil for 30 minutes 
    – Red and white quinoa (I just cooked it in my rice cooker)
    – An apple for dessert

    Tons of protein, tons of fibre, tons of other nutrition.
