Perfectly balanced brown sugar vanilla base.

High quality callebaut chocolate chunks that I will continue to say are the best chocolate chunks I’ve ever had in ice cream. They have a slight crunch to them yet feel like they aren’t too hard and are melting in your mouth at the same time.

Rounding it off with BOULDER sized chunks of salted chocolate chip cookie dough. They really brought it with the saltiness. It’s an absolute perfect balance with the sweet ice cream/chocolate. I’m not a big cookie dough lover to begin with but the fact that these are SALT heavy cookie dough boulders brings this all together for a perfect sweet/salty flavor. On top of that the cookie dough tastes about as homemade as you can get. Like it’s the opposite of your standard rabbit turd sized cookie dough you get in standard ice creams.

A very basic flavor by Pannas standards but sometimes you want basic if it’s done right.

They did it right!

What is the charge? Someone posted a pic of a 45 dollar pint of dubai chocolate ice cream.

I had the chance to swing by their Manhattan scoop shop a couple of weeks ago when visiting from out of town. Grabbed this one and the cookies n panna, and my god it was some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I hate to say it, but it’s so worth the hype.

FYI, $14 per pint if in person vs. $20 shipped. Once I polish off the last of my WF haul, I’m absolutely ordering.

I bought the six-pack of cookie-inspired flavors a couple of weeks back. It was my first time trying Caffe Panna after seeing it on here so often. I really liked that flavor in that I could taste more of the base, and it was the first one I finished. This collection (and maybe the brand in general) is definitely for those who love mix-ins, like a Gucci Ben & Jerry’s. I’d personally pull back 10% on mix-ins and add more of the base, but I enjoyed it quite a bit overall.

I was thinking of doing a post on all six flavors, but it doesn’t look like you can order them anymore. There’s a Levain collab going on now instead on Gold Belly. But in case they bring it back, here’s a look at the six flavors for anyone interested …

    >Oatmeal Cowboy Cookie: This was my favorite with peanut butter ice cream and swirl. The cookie bits were great, though the mini M&Ms did bleed out in a tasty mess halfway through. 9.5/10
    >Rainbow Cookie: The one I was most looking forward to as I love these Italian cookies (mini cakes really). And there were huge pieces. I am curious how it would be with the sweet cream base swapped out for almond and a swirl of apricot or raspberry jam (the collection craved fruit somewhere). As is, still great. 9.3
    >Sweet Dough: The most plain, but a chance to enjoy the excellent base. I loved the cookie dough balls, but maybe go 75% smaller for ease of biting. 9.1
    >Min Thint: Their take on Thin Mint, and about what you’d expect. I like those cookies and mint-chocolate combos in general, so it was a winner for me. 8.9
    >Seven Layer Bar: I have never had the titular treat before, so not sure how to compare, but I liked the coconut ice cream (and I liked in general that the flavor profiles were so varied and not all just sweet cream with mix-ins). It had butterscotch and graham, too. Tasty, but I like only a couple of bites at a time (hence why it’s still half-full). 8.7
    >Brookies N’ Panna: This is for the chocolate lover. As I am a fan of chocolate in a supporting role, it was always likely to fall last for me, but it’s not too far behind, as the chocolate wasn’t too dark, and the chocolate chip cookies were a nice pairing with the brownies. 8.5

Were these worth it ($110+$20 shipping)? Maybe as a one-time splurge to try this brand (though never say never, in case they have another collection that looks amazing). I’ve ordered online from maybe a half-dozen ice cream makers in the past year and these were easily the most expensive. My favorite, Graeter’s, was only a bit more (with coupon) for 12 pints, and I preferred maybe 2/3 of those over anything here. But it’s definitely fun to mark another one off the list that I’ve discovered on this fine subreddit!

I can’t with the Caffe Panna posts. I really want to try them, but don’t want to pay the hefty delivery price.
