    use to do this when targeting blackfin at the Humps in Islamorada. kept a small bit of soy sauce on board as well.

    we’d catch a blackfin, cut the gills and bleed it in the icy slush in the cooler, then about 20 minutes later filet it for some snacks.

    Fresh blackfin is premium. We use to chop it on the boat and bring some soy/ginger/wasabi with us

    There are lots of bacteria that is not getting killed, unless it’s sushi by the cook, they freeze it for a week to kill the bacteria. After freezing it’s safe to eat raw
