Since the last update i have added: pork belly, more carrots, more mushrooms, an apple, a bunch of water, a half cup of red wine and a can of Guinness. most of that being added last night, but the Guinness being added just now.

Im gonna leave her for a bit to cook off the intense aroma of Guinness then plate up a bowl n add an update comment

Do we need an update every time people toss more food into their 6-quart science experiments?

I’ve seen open wounds that looked more appetizing than this

I want you to know that these updates are vital to my day to day success. This is answering a long standing question that’s been consuming me during my work hours. “But what if perpetual stew?”

For the next ingredients you add. I suggest some canned tomatoes and some bell peppers.

I’ve always been interested in trying this myself but I lack commitment

Ignore the hate. My family has been making perpetual stew on the wood stove through each winter for decades, it’s something that used to be fairly common. I’ve also made it for weeks at a time in a crock pot. It’s easy to keep crock pot temps safe for prolonged periods, even when adding room temperature additions periodically.
