    If you do try it with other berries, let us know how it turns out.

    The recipe says: “This batter is formulated to the specific pH and moisture content of blackberries; it cannot be made with any other type of fruit.” but you could play around with the ratios I’m sure.

    I’ve made this but probably won’t again only because, while it’s delicious, it’s super tricky to get it to be actually purple. Like for science reasons tricky. So my cake tasted good, but was gray!

    Now, if a gray cake is what you want (which, you might!) then it’s a tasty way to have one without messing around with food coloring.
