Passione Vino opens in Exmouth Market next month – a sister venue to the much loved Shoreditch wine bar of the same name.
Both are the inspiration of charismatic host Luca Dusi, who founded the original wine shop bar and restaurant in Leonard Street in 2015.
Since then it has become a cult favourite for its colourful interiors, homemade pastas, and incredible selection of Italian wines.
With its etched glass window and ink art on the walls, The Family Business parlour was founded in 2003 by world-renowned tattoo artist Mo Coppoletta.
Like Luca he hails from Verona, who takes over the site pledging to breathe new life into the shop, while honouring its legacy and bringing a splash of the Passione Vino spirit.
Beyond pouring wine, the intimate 30-seat Passione Vino Exmouth Market will be a meeting space, home to tastings, supper clubs and creative collaborations, championing community and culture.
Drink-wise, Luca’s USP is introducing guests to his favourite wines from across Italy and beyond – and a devotion to producers who share his commitment to authenticity and storytelling.
As at Passione Vino, there will be no wine list. Luca and his team, led by Manager Stefano Marro, will recommend their favourite bottles, with pairings, challenging palates with unexpected discoveries, while bringing the bottles to life.
Chef Pascal Lazzarotto has created an epic sandwich menu that begins with carefully chosen loaves such as Altamura and Schiacciata, served with oxtail, smoked trout, cotechino and sardines.
“Passione Vino has always been about more than wine.” said Luca, who has designed the bar himself with bold artwork, Italian touches and nods to the tattoo shop’s previous incarnation.
“It’s about people, connections, and discovery.
“With the new bar in Clerkenwell, we’re expanding the family. We’re bringing across everything we love from Shoreditch, adding new bottles, new flavours, and new experiences, all while celebrating the incredible history of this building. We can’t wait to welcome people in. Ciao!”
