You know, it’s tough for me to choose which is the best between pancakes, waffles, and French toast, but this vanilla custard hala French toast is definitely in the top two. Let me show you how to make it. Let’s get into it. So, to start it off, in a large bowl, we’re going to combine heavy cream, eggs, white sugar, dark brown sugar, a little bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pure vanilla. Give it a good whisk and make sure everything is combined. Then, set aside. Now, for our bread, we’re going to slice a loaf of hala. We want to make each slice about 1 in thick for each piece. Once ready to cook, we’re going to heat a large skillet over medium low heat. Once the skillet is hot, I like to add in a little bit of oil and butter. Place a slice of our bread inside the custard and let it soak for a few seconds on both sides. Then shake off the excess custard and place inside the skillet. We want to cook these in batches about two at a time. Once you place in the skillet, we want to lightly press on top of each piece to make sure it is making full contact with the skillet to cook evenly. We want to cook our slices for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Then flip over and continue cooking for a couple more minutes until golden brown on the other side. And there you have it. Once done, remove from the skillet and repeat these steps until all pieces are cooked.

I love a custard French toast!
I'm not crazy about pancakes or waffles or ordinary French toast.
But I love that custard French toast.
You need to soak them fat arss slices of bread longer then that and more eggs, yes add some chocolate chips, your choice, and leave out the nutmeg, yuck, it's French toast not pumpkin pie😅😊❤
