Amazon refunded me for the bag, first time trying supermarket beans, out of curiosity, lavazza super crema, rest of the coffee looks fine, but I’m glad I caught this and it didn’t reach the grinder, it’s very tough, would’ve damaged the grinder.

If you bought lavazza gold, it looks like they’re the real deal!

  2. Looks like wood.is the beans you bought any type of specially roasted beans? Like with chicory notes or something ? Could be from that if they roasted some other things to give some aromas

Dunno, but there’s a number of beans in the third photo that I’d be picking out of the hopper before use too.

  4. Probably a piece of coffeewood? Its really hard, it gets sold as chewing toy for dogs

It’s always Ambergris. Very valuable. Perhaps the roaster came back from a three-day trek sourcing Civet coffee’s more disgustifying relative.

That’s a piece of the coffee tree or some rando piece of wood that got into the roasting process, looks like it went thru the roasting process tbh. Then somehow made it thru “quality control” and into your bag. Good catch, that def would have brought the grinder to a less than fun halt.

I’d say this is a weathered part of a coffee cooling* machine or packing scale, no idea what part, bit its probably some sort of plastic. The dark lines indicate it’s some sort of plastic/polymer. Fatty acids of all sorts tend to do this.

    *Coffee is cooled after roasting.

A sign of the times when they have to add these to get to the goal weight /s

It’s a piece of the everlasting gobstopper

  12. The interesting part is how uneven the roast is. There are light roasted beans in there along with the dark.

About the golden piece, no idea. Don’t buy supermarket brands, support your local roastery.

Can you post the bag pictures to see roasting information?
