[Not looking for consolation; just sharing a nice weekend]
It's been a hectic year, but I finally had a weekend to visit family. We went out for an all-you-can-eat sushi place, and my gosh everything was absolutely delectable. Very fast service, great sauces, enormous selection, overall solid experience. 20/10, lovely afternoon.
I'm not planning to calorie-restrict for dinner or tomorrow, though I'm still very full so we'll see ๐

This summer slowed down my progress because we had a bunch of family time. Then I was getting back on track and it was my nieceโs birthday. All that to say, Iโm with you, who cares? Rather have a good time with family then worry about calories.
I just did basically this plus a whole pizza that night, I donโt regret a thing. You gotta live (and eat more sushi than god ever intended)
Glad you had a wonderful time! It’s great nutrition, too.
If I had more quality sushi near me so that it wasn’t such an occasional thing, I think I would have no problem with portion control. Alas. I have made sushi at home the first time a few weeks ago and it’s not too hard, but I was very slow!
We are allowed to enjoy ourselves and then get back on track. Glad you had a great and tasty time! ๐ธ๐ธ
I also went to lunch with family & then dinner with friends yesterday. It doesnโt happen everyday so I just let myself settle in to enjoy ๐
Even โgoing all outโ now versus before I started tracking calories I simply eat way less. I just enjoy the food more – and when I do โbingeโ itโs still leagues lower than anything I used to โbingeโ before.
Good for you OP!
well deserved! this is why we’re all mindful, so we can have delicious treats like this and celebrate special times.
for me, my “special times” before deciding to take better care of myself and nourish my body was a Tuesday night, stoned with a sackful of 7-11 garbage snscks to the tune of 2000+ empty cals ๐ฅด๐
now i can really feast when the occasion is a celebration and not feel sick or remorseful. it’s such a great mental + physical space to be in
