Here’s a classic Margarita pizza recipe with Marinara sauce recipe for you:
Ingredients:
For the dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoons instant yeast
¾ cup warm water
1 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
Prepare the dough:
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast.
Add oil, flour and salt.
Mix until the flour comes together.
Knead for 2-3 minutes, no need to Knead for so long.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
After 1.5 hours punch out the air and divide the dough into two equal parts.
Shape into smooth dough balls.
Spread oil in a bowl and keep the dough balls covered in the bowl.
Let it rest for another 20 -30 minutes.
Shape the pizza:
Punch down the dough and turn it onto a floured surface.
Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle.
Cook the base over stove top :
Preheat a skillet.
Place the pizza base over high heat for 4-5 minutes until the color changes in the bottom.
Assemble:
Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Arrange slices of fresh mozzarella on top.
Drizzle with a little olive oil.
Preheat your oven:
Preheat to 245°C
Broil for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Finish:
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle with a little more olive oil if desired.
Slice and enjoy your homemade Margarita pizza
Marinara sauce with fresh tomatoes:
Tomatoes- 4 large ( Peeled and crushed)
Olive oil – 2 tablespoon
Onion-1 small
Garlic crushed- 1 tablespoon
Oregano-1 teaspoon
Pepper-1 teaspoon
Salt-1/2 teaspoon
Sugar-1 teaspoon
Fresh basil leaves chopped
Instructions:
Prepare the tomatoes.
Wash the tomatoes. Make cross cuts ( shallow cuts).
Boil some water and cook the tomatoes for 3-4 minutes.
Take it out of the Hot water and drop it in cold water .
Peel the tomatoes.
In a saucepan, warm the olive oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and chopped onion (if using).
Cook for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent, but not browned.
Pour in the crushed or blended tomatoes.
Stir to combine.
Add oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, black pepper, and sugar (if needed).
Stir well.
Reduce heat to low.
Let the sauce simmer uncovered for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavors meld.
Adjust seasoning as needed.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Serve over pasta, as a pizza sauce, or with bread.
