Visiting Asakusa and just had this AMAZING assortment. Not sure what any of it is. Advice?


Labelling the platforms 1-7 from left to right. (I'm pretty sure the 3 in the middle are salmon and Tuna)

  1. literally melted in my mouth.
  2. Was chewy but in a good way.
  3. Had the most unique flavor on the board.
  4. I guess this might be yellowtail? It tasted kind of familiar.

Restaurant is Asakura Asa Tora in Asakusa.

    The note for #4 was supposed to be #7. Reddit corrected me thinking it was a list. 7 is the one I thought might be yellowtail.

    I think the second one up on the left is horse mackerel. It looks just like what we had in the Tsukiji market. God, it was like butter, just amazing.

    Edit: just saw your note about it being chewy, so maybe that’s not it.
