It’s my favorite. Everyone has their preference though

Ribeye is very much like NY strip, but better.

There’s no grey band so maybe more people should do this! Nice job Op the steak looks great, I’m glad you enjoyed it, love that you bought local.

I love a good NY strip, especially if it’s part of a porterhouse. Medium is my favorite heat.

It’s my favorite cut. I like to leave the meat with the fat strip as the last bites.

Picanha is the best by a huge margin.

  7. No! Ribeye is… and actually a ribeye cap steak is the pinnacle of all beef. Period.

  8. imo ribeye, filet, flat iron, bavette, picanha and skirt steak are all better than NY strip. I just find it underwhelming every time i have it. Not as tender as i hope, and not flavourfull enough to make up for that either.

  9. It’s my preferred. Sometimes when I get a Ribeye there’s too much fat

For me it’s definitely a well cooked ribeye. I do occasionally have a New York strip. Cooked right they are delicious.

One technique I have heard is to sear for 30-45 seconds a side, then let rest. Rinse and repeat until you hit the doneness you are looking for. This was from Senpai Kai on YouTube.
Your cook looks like you didn’t turn the steak quickly resulting in the banding that most on this subreddit abhor. Our food porn pictures involve a perfect crust (Your look just on the edge of burnt) and edge to edge perfection. Overall, not bad, but not great. But as long as you enjoyed it, that is what matters the most.

strip, ribeye, sirloin, tritip, brisket, hanger, ribs, ect I loves them all

I find Ribeyes great, but they’re too fatty for an every day steak, NY Strip is the right balance for me.

I prefer a porterhouse first and a rib eye second. I don’t care much for a strip, too lean.

    NY is delicious!
I’d say my go to is ribeyes and flat iron. Yummy.

If you say anything other than outside skirt you’re wrong
