I think I know the answer but I want to be told by y’all as well… can I use my smoker under the eaves instead of dragging it out every time? I’m mainly worried about the smoke affecting the roof/attic. I would put something non-flammable behind it to protect the siding.

Yeah, if you have a hopper fire or grease fire that gets out of control you dont want it up against your house. These things can malfunction randomly. Not that it’s likely, but it’s not worth the risk.
Even your “pulled out” position is questionable if you get a grease or hopper fire. Under the eaves just screams insurance fraud
No matter what then those nice white wooden planks would get a taint of brown in no time at all 🙂
I have build a patio with a 3m x 4m pavilion and have a gas and a pellet grill under that. Is it 100% safe? No. But if it had to be 100% safe, you would probably have to place your equipment 5-10m away from anything that is remotely flameable.
