    I did this for the first time to last night!
    Ground beef only and I was shocked at how it turned out.

    Super easy and a fun twist. Your “meat wad” looked better than mine tho haha

    Help me out here…

    Is the idea that you make your chili in the pot, sans meat (or at least sans some meat), then smoke the meat above it (allowing dripping to join the party in the pot), then adding the meat to the pool party after smoked?

    Looks good. Suggestion for you; if you make the meat into about 2″ meatballs you expose much more surface area to the smoke. For what it is worth.
