Makdroudh ✨ Traditional Tunisian semolina pastries filled with dates, fried golden, and dipped in honey 🍯 Perfect with mint tea 🌿
Ingredients:
• 1 cup date paste (mix with cinnamon + orange blossom water if desired)
• 3 cups coarse semolina
• ½ cup all-purpose flour
• ½ cup melted butter
• ½ cup oil
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ cup water (as needed)
• Honey (for soaking)
Steps:
1. Prepare date paste filling → roll into logs.
2. Mix semolina, flour, baking powder, salt. Rub in butter + oil. Add water until soft dough forms. Rest.
3. Roll dough into logs, flatten, place date log inside. Seal + cut into diamonds.
4. Fry until golden. Dip warm pastries into honey.
5. Soak, then serve with mint tea 🌿☕
