The best sashimi I've ever had was from a small stall at a night market in Taipei. This plate cost around $240 NTD or $11 cad for eight thick pieces. Taiwan is a pretty underrated country in general, especially for the food.

I am Taiwanese, and my dad likes to say that everything in the Taiwan is the best, including the Japanese food. This is patently false, of course, we have been to Japan several times and the Japanese food in Japan is obviously better (if we’re comparing best with best, obviously there’s also shitty food in Japan just like in any country). But my wife definitely makes fun of my dad for thinking everything in Taiwan is the best.

I don’t think I’ve sense sashimi slabs that large. Great find!

This could not be further from the truth. 😂
Taipei is one of the highest regarded cities in the world when it comes to food and nightlife.
