Started the Weber and walked away. Forgot I left tools in there last night like an idiot. Currently plastic is melty. Should I remove now or once it’s re-set?

Personally I’d consider replacing the entire grate. But that’s just because I hate the idea of ingesting plastic with my food and don’t feel like I’d ever be able to get it all.

Let it cool. It’ll pop right off then burn it really hot to get all the micro plastics burnt off. Then eat.

Tool problem aside, do you light your grill with the lid closed?
I’m assuming this is a propane / NG grill – if so, open that bad boy before lighting.
A) It will prevent this issue. B) It’s a whole lot harder to blow things up with an open lid. You never know when a slow leak has filled a gas grill…

that brush is extremely dangerous and should have been replaced much sooner
the design is a risk for metal splintering which can be fatal

This is why even today’s “smart grills” don’t allow you to start them remotely. When a 2 second mistake turns into a 20 minute problem.

Sure looks like you need some new tools brother 😀

Wrap in a foil boat between 155 and 165 degrees to help push through the stall. Start checking around 198 for tenderness. You want what I like to call “probe tender.” The probe should go right in like butter with no resistance. Let it rest for at least an hour.
