SENECA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Firefighters from multiple agencies were called to a fire in downtown Seneca overnight.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the Corinth-Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department said it was on scene assisting Seneca Fire, Clemson University Fire and Friendship Fire on Ram Cat Alley.
FOX Carolina crews on scene said the fire damaged Drizzle on the Alley, an artisan olive oil and vinegar shop in the 100 block of Ram Cat Alley.
The business is taped off with crime scene tape.
Seneca Fire Chief Richie Caudill said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been requested to investigate the fire due to the monetary loss for the business. Caudill said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
“You couldn’t get in without crawling on your belly to get inside the building,” Caudill said.
No one was injured in the incident. Two neighboring buildings have smoke damage.
Ram Cat Alley is home to historic buildings in Seneca’s central business district.
