I noticed buildup on the back plate of my timberline 1300. I recommend vacuuming that out annually. This is my first time after owning this for three years and there was quite an alarming amount of dust accumulated at least 2 inches in the back bottom area inhibiting airflow. I simply love simple green. It works so well I should’ve used it more often as this is how I’m gonna leave it. Can’t stay looking new forever. It’s a smoker for Heaven sake.

I vacuum mine out completely before every cook. I have one of those 3 gallon wet dry vacs. They run under 40 and make your life easy.
I clean mine every weekend as I generally do a roast or longer cook on sundays.
Damn you. This makes me want to clean mine.
Damn I’ve never taken the back off of mine. I’m kinda scared now.
