Excellent Prié Blanc from Pavese in the Vallée D'aoste. Haven't had this grape before but it's grown a few thousand feet up in the alps on ungrafted vines. Has the crispness of Chablis, but more salinity, even pepper and petrol. Great intensity and finish.

  1. This wine is a winner year in and year out. I’ve only had this cuvée from the producer, but all their label art is delightful. A Neal Rosenthal import. Given the acidity I’d be curious to try one of these with a few years of age, but I can never hold onto them for more than a few months without opening for friends.

Wow. I would love to try it again. When I had it, I don’t think I understood it. The acid was screaming.
