Did anyone else attend the SF Cake Picnic yesterday (October 19, 2025) on Treasure Island? It was my first time, and what a pleasant surprise!!

As an extroverted introvert, I was a little anxious about how big it might be (and how many cakes I’d have to resist sampling), but it turned out to be SUCH a fun, welcoming event!

I wish I’d had more time to see every single cake β€” but with over 2,000 (!!) stunning cakes on display, it was impossible to take it all in.

I brought 2 of my own cakes: an 8" x 4" entremet (passionfruit, mango, coconut, dulcey and vanilla bean) and a persian love cake bundt (almond, pistachio, citrus, rose, cardamom)!

I would love to see what others brought or your favorite cakes from the day!

Dang, I missed it! Treasure Island is closer to me than they usually are held, too. There were some scammy “cake picnic” events happening awhile ago so I started tuning them out and missed the good one.

I’ve been considering starting a baking club in the East Bay somewhere. We have the Contra Costa Cake Club but that’s more about cake decorating and they don’t really do any baking itself. I don’t have enough baking friends!

Aw, they both look beautiful and delicious! I love your decorating style. I didn’t attend this one, but I did attend the first Cake Picnic that was held in Los Angeles in June last year.

We had 253 cakes and I didn’t even get to try them all… I can’t imagine 2k!! Hope you had a great time. Everyone at my event was lovely too.

That’s so fun! How does it work? Is there some kind of system or do they just cut them up and people can grab whatever slice they want?
