So I was in Chicago for a brief period of time for a wedding. The way the plans worked out I wasn’t going to be able to make a reservation or really fit it in at all except…when I got a little toasted at the welcome party on Friday I decided to just go for it at like 8:30 pm. Got to Akahoshi Ramen only to be told by the host that they were no longer serving. So I went outside only to spot Mike himself and got the (drunken) courage to go right up to him and beg that he give me any scraps he could. And was served the best bowl of ramen I’ve ever had as he called it “staff meal”. I’ll be back to Chicago again if only to have a proper meal there. u/ramenlord seriously thank you so much for an amazing bowl. Made my whole trip.
