The new organic Italian Spelt Piadinas, Italian Spelt Pizza Bases and Hot and Chunky Kimchi will be available to retailers from November onwards.

The new Italian Spelt Piadinas are traditional flatbreads from the heart of Emilia-Romagna, which are simply made with just organic spelt flour and extra virgin olive oil, with an RRP of £2.49. They are naturally high in fibre and “perfect for filling with fresh toppings for a nutritious lunch ready in seconds”.

The Italian Spelt Pizza Bases are thin and crispy organic pizza bases made in Italy with ancient spelt grain and extra virgin olive oil, with an RRP of £2.59. They offer a wholesome, “high-fibre twist on a classic and are ready to be topped and heated in minutes”.

Building on the success of its existing kimchi and the growing popularity of gut-friendly food, Biona is also launching a new Hot and Chunky Organic Kimchi, which is turning up the heat with a heartier bite and a bolder flavour, with an RRP of £5.39. It is made with organic napa cabbage, the traditional base of authentic kimchi, as its sole cabbage variety, along with carrots, onion, garlic, ginger, and a bold blend of spices. It’s also free from preservatives, artificial flavourings, and added sugar, making it ideal for clean-label shoppers seeking bold, authentic flavours.

Carmen Ferguson, brand manager at Biona’s parent company Windmill Organics, comments; “We are delighted to introduce these three new products which are all well-timed to match current food trends. We know many consumers are shifting from sliced bread and looking for more versatile bakery options which is why products like flatbreads and wraps are growing in popularity accordingly, so our new organic Piadinas should be well received.

“When it comes to the pizza category, shoppers are trading up and looking for more authentic, high-quality options so our new pizza bases will meet that need. Finally, with gut health increasingly on many consumer’s radars, our new hot and chunky kimchi delivers plant-based goodness via bigger chunks, a satisfying crunch, and a warming kick.”
