Chilean wine giant Viña Concha y Toro has added a dual-origin wine to its Casillero del Diablo flagship brand.
Fusión de Orígenes is a red blend of “mainly” cabernet sauvignon, syrah and carmenere. The grapes are sourced not only from Casillero’s Chile homeland but also from Mexico’s Guadalupe Valley in the north of the country.
The extension, which debuts this week, is on sale in Mexico at an SRP of MXN386 (US$21) per 75cl bottle. Future plans for other markets were not immediately available.
The dual-nationality extension is not Casillero’s first venture outside of Chile: In early 2021, the brand’s portfolio was augmented by a tempranillo from Spain. The UK-only release carried a price point at the time of GBP8 (then-US$11) per bottle.
In results for the first six months of this year, announced in early August, Concha y Toro booked a 2.3% lift in sales versus the same period in 2024.
