Sometime in 2024, I found Andrea's Cookies on Google. She currently has three stores in the city. Each Wednesday to Sunday, there's six different flavours on the menu (five rotating + Chocolate Chunk). This wk (Oct 15-19), the lineup is:
- Choco Chunk
- Red Velvet
- Almond Croissant
- Honey Cornbread
- Chocolate Knafeh (Dubai)
- Buttered Pancake
On Thursday, I decided to pre-order a six-pack, $30 no-tax. I got Choco Chunk, Honey Cornbread, Buttered Pancake, two of each. Today, I picked up my cookies at the store near Keele subway station, they smelled great! Thank goodness I pre-ordered, because the person after me wanted Buttered Pancake, and it was sold out!
Choco Chunk (top-right & bottom-left): Andrea uses big milk chocolate chunks & sea salt in her version. There's something about the combo of chocolate & salt that just works. This is a solid cookie.
Honey Cornbread (top-left & bottom-right): The cookie base is made w/ cornmeal, but it's not too grainy. The honey icing adds a nice sweetness. I would say this is a subdued version of Crumbl's Cornbread cookie.
Buttered Pancake (top-middle & bottom-middle): Honestly, I have mixed feelings. There is definitely pancake flavour in the base. The frosting doesn't taste buttery to me, and it's not very sweet. In comparison, Crumbl's Waffle cookie has a buttercream dollop on top, which strongly tastes of butter. After eating, I went to Andrea's IG page, and she says the flavour is maple. I didn't get any maple vibes from the first Buttered Pancake. We'll see after I eat the second one on Saturday.
Overall, the cookies have a nice soft texture, and I can tell they're baked longer compared to Crumbl. Although both brands sell six-packs for $30 no tax, Andrea's is more expensive because her cookies are smaller. Regardless, I would buy again.
