Made kimbap for the first time using the spicy pork belly bulgogi I made last night! (Last pic. Sadly, I had run out of green onions.) Turned out great, but if anyone has advice for making the rice layer thinner I'd appreciate it.

    Wow, that looks great — especially for a first timer! When people make kimbap for the first time, they usually put so much rice that the seaweed is completely covered and you can’t see any black. 😂 The secret is to spread the rice sparingly, so it looks a bit spotty, and only cover about three-quarters of the seaweed. A good rule of thumb is to use about a fistful of rice.

    For a thinner layer of rice, just use less rice. Just use small amounts at a time as you spread it out.

    Nice, not sure about bulgogi tho.
    For rice, it’s best you put 80% of what you think you should. So you can roll it while not ruining the roll.
