Five Star Bar has been a favorite for years and this feels like it came out of nowhere. Their food and vibes were 10/10 for me and everyone I brought there, so I simply don't understand! If any of the staff see this, we love you all!

The staff were great; everything else was sliding badly.
Well, they were more than half empty basically every single day…and had zero identity since re-opening.
Damn. This place was one of my faves in the late aughts.
Damn, did they still have the awning from 1056?
Brutal service and basically no one else there the three times I’ve gone this year probably will do it
They had the original Pontiac cafe sign. Wonder what will happen to it.
Damn they had a decent Detroit style pizza. Maybe not the best but nice for a neighborhood spot
Every single time I went there it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. I’m not surprised
for seconds i thought my beloved gold star bar had closed
Such a shame, I ate there about 4 years ago when I first moved to the city. The pizza was absolutely phenomenal, I loved it.
Then I got some friends about a year ago to go back with me, and I was hyping them up for this fantastic pizza.
The quality had dipped so severely, I was embarrassed to have brought my friends.
They got way too expensive
they did some posh redesign of the space post-covid and it never felt the same to me
Poor redesign. No marketing. Staff was always acting like they were too busy. Food was subpar. Not surprised. Hopefully a good neighborhood spot comes in there
Pretty much gutted a very unique and personal feeling bar to make it comfy to appeal to a clientele who couldn’t care less. Personally, the treatment of staff once the new ownership really rubbed me the wrong way, and I never stepped foot inside.
They went down hill after Covid
I just remember a bartender texting the whole time I was there. I had to go up to him to ask for a drink.
They used to have some great food but that and the service seemed to have crashed in the last 3-4 years.
Turns out the five stars, was outta ten!
Ownership stealing tips, poor service, weird vibes, expensive drinks.

I’ve never heard of it and I eat out every day.
