Behind the velvet hush of L’Escape Hotel, L’Amant Secret whispers the language of modern French luxury—sumptuous, intimate and irresistibly Seoul
Nestled within the lavish L’Escape Hotel, L’Amant Secret feels like a rendezvous between Seoul and Saint-Germain. Conceived by chef Jongwon Son, whose résumé includes Quince and Benu in San Francisco, the restaurant brings a confident, contemporary sensibility to French cooking, rooted in Korean seasonality.
Son’s food is sensual but restrained, translating the language of luxury into light, finely tuned flavours. The caviar and egg is a masterclass in quiet indulgence, while Petit L’Amant Secret opens the meal with playful precision. The lobster roast chicken, stuffed and slow-roasted, redefines comfort with a haute-cuisine wink. Herbs and vegetables grown on the rooftop garden add a subtle sense of place, French finesse anchored in Korean soil.
Designed by Jacques Garcia, the dining room glows in shades of red and gold, with mirrored accents that make every meal feel like a secret worth keeping. Service is warm, familial, and unfailingly attentive, just enough theatre, never the fuss.
