I just got and built a new grill, and have been unsuccessful at getting it to work. I've attached a picture of the regulator, and the valve on the 5kg tank (I am in Chile).
I should be able to just pop the regulator on, flip the switch on the back, and have liftoff… but nothing happens. No hiss, no gas smell, no flame (although I can see sparkers working).
I assume the problem is this old tank is terribly worn out and the pin in my regulator is not able to get it to press in and release gas. I can get it to do so with a screwdriver, but no sign of anything happening when the regulator is in.
Is that a plausible explanation (in which case I will go request a new tank), or am I missing something?
