    Homemade Cherry Turnovers

    Ingredients:

    – 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets)

    – 1 cup fresh or canned cherry pie filling

    – 1 egg (for egg wash)

    – 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

    – 1 cup powdered sugar

    – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    – 2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.

    2. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package instructions and roll them out on a lightly floured surface.

    3. Cut each sheet into 4 squares.

    4. Place 1-2 tablespoons of cherry filling in the center of each square.

    5. Fold the pastry over to make a triangle and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.

    6. In a small bowl, beat the egg with the tablespoon of milk. Brush this mixture over the tops of the turnovers.

    7. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

    9. While the turnovers are baking, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 2-3 tablespoons of milk in a bowl to make the glaze. Adjust the milk for desired consistency.

    10. Once the turnovers are done and cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over them.
