With my Grill & Smoker setup I'm thinking having a cart/prep station would be more useful then having a front shelf. Problem is as I look around something like the Oklahoma Joe runs $300-$400, but they do have a SS top and drawers which is plus. The Keter poly resin looks decent and comes with a SS top. Some of the Amazon junk is cheap and if figure would start to rust right away.
While my BBQ area is covered, rust is a concern, but since I live in a desert area with high winds I want to find something that I can cover. The trays on the OK Joe look great but I can imagine they'd be a dust bin too.
Have you come across a good work space that doesn't cost as much as a new grill?

I have a cheapo stainless top one from Amazon with doors. I use it a lot bc my wwp doesn’t have a shelf and neither does my kettle. I think it was like $60. No rust but I’m in California.
I just use a fold-put banquet table. Works perfectly for all my prep, it’s easy to clear up, and it folds up for easy storage in the garage.
I’m about to turn my $115 harbor freight tool cart into a bbq cart.
I have the second one, keter I believe? Works well, the bottom keeps rain and snow out. Top is easy to clean with stainless steel cleaner/bar keepers friend. I’ve had it for 3 seasons now and would highly recommend it for an extra bbq table and storage
I have a wooden one I found in front of someone’s house on the curb. I took it home and polyurethane it and I love it
I just build a second, longer Keter cart. My stay under a patio cover and the older one is in decent shape after several years now. Just began using a pellet smoker so the long cart will come in handy to store pellets
Bought a full metal one off Amazon. Hot stuff gets set on it all the time. I would avoid anything made of plastic.
I’m the same boat as you are and I’ve had my eye on this cart for a little while. Waiting for Black Friday and then pulling the trailer.

I have the half size version of #2 and love it. Wish I had the one you have pictured, but I got mine at a big discount of only $50. I’ve had it for about 5 years or so and it’s held up nicely. Door still works well, no rust, completely uncovered and sits outside in all 4 seasons.
A guy near me makes these. It’s fantastic. Really well made: https://thegrillboxcompany.com/
I use an IKEA Grillskar island next to my pellet grill for both prep and as a table for my Ooni pizza oven. It’s stationary, but has lockable cabinet doors and is built for outdoor use. It’s been on my deck for a couple years uncovered without rust. Pretty happy with it for the price.
I have something like #3 because it’s collapsible. I only use it to set things on, no food prep, but it’s worked well.
I have the one in the second picture. I have to Green Eggs on rolling stands and that cart is great because I can move it to wherever I need it. I can also put a portable convection top on it. It has a stainless steel top which is nice and it also makes a good serving table when you have people over. I bought it at Lowes. Don’t recall the price but it wasn’t that bad. Quality is low to middle end, but that’s ok. The same manufacturer makes an an outdoor storage cabinet made from the same resin that I store all my BBQ stuff in.
I use an Core outdoor camp table leave it out all summer. There are core brand accessories for it too.
