Catching a bite of what U.S. News and World Report calls the Best Diet Overall for 2025 is that much easier this week.
The Alabama-based fast-casual restaurant chain Taziki’s Mediterranean Café has opened its first San Antonio location in the Encino Park area. The rapidly expanding brand has opened about 100 restaurants across 18 states since its launch in 1998, including eight in Texas. There are currently four Taziki’s outposts in the Dallas area, and one each in Texarkana, San Marcos and New Braunfels.
Taziki’s menu includes a range of dips such as hummus and whipped feta; several salads; platters featuring grilled meats, rice and salad; a large selection of gyros, wraps and sandwiches; and customizable Kýpelos bowls with a base of rice, pasta or quinoa with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options across the board. Taziki’s runs regular specials, such as a recent offering of Caesar salad with shrimp, a spicy harissa chicken wrap and Mediterranean lamb burger.

“We’re grateful for the excitement and support the Greater San Antonio community has shown since we opened our first area location in New Braunfels,” Taziki’s managing member Lexie Leinneweber said in a media release. “With three stores now open, we’re thrilled to continue celebrating with our neighbors. Our fresh, affordable, scratch-made dishes – paired with a passion for connecting and serving – make Taziki’s a natural fit for San Antonio, and we look forward to many great years ahead.”
The new location is at the fast-growing intersection of Bulverde and Evans roads on the city’s far North Side. Taziki’s shares a spot in a shopping plaza anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market. Several other restaurants have already made a home there, including Marco’s Pizza, Sakura Asian Cuisine, Bahia Bowls Encino Park, among others.
