Initial first sips were all acid and tannin. After about an hour breathing, the acidity has mellowed and the tannin has softened. No fruit here. All earth and some herb. I'm enjoying this one.

I don't recall buying this but a search turned up the costco wine blog review from 2022. So I assume I picked it up then for about $20 USD on a trip in the US.

Edit: After about 2 hours, it's gone nearly flat. Barely anything to it. I decanted half the bottle stuck the rest in the fridge. Will not decant the rest. Pour and swirl might be good enough for this one.

2017 barolo has no fruit, all earth and some herb. Is this what barolo should taste like after 8 years in bottle? Sounds like not my cup of tea personally. Thanks for the note regardless
