Easy Crispy Carnitas recipe made with pork shoulders, fresh garlic, Dominican or Mexican Oregano, cumin, lime, and olive oil. You season everything and then roast it low and slow until it’s tender and juicy! The best is when you roast it on high under the broiler until is perfectly crispy. This is the perfect recipe for your next taco night.
Crispy on the outside, melts in your mouth on the inside. This is how you really make carnitas. We’re going to kick things off using some pork shoulder that I went ahead and I cut into big chunky pieces. We’re going to season it with cumin, oregano, a ton of garlic, some lemon juice, some orange juice, freshly squeezed, fresh thyme, and then go ahead and use those leftover orange slices. We’re going to add some oil. And then we’re going to take a baking dish and we’re going to add all of the marinated meat along with some more oil because this is actually going to cook in its own fat, but we want to give it a little bit of help. And then we’re going to cover it and we’re going to cook it low and slow in the oven. Afterwards, we’re going to take those juiciest pieces. We’re going to put them on a baking sheet. We’re going to shred them. And just when you think it’s over, no, no, no. We’re going to add some more of that juicy marinade. We’re going to broil it until crispy. And there you guys have it. the crispiest carnitas. Go ahead and hit it with some fresh lime.
