New Kirkland Signature bottling I picked up. Wasn't expecting much after the trying the 2023 Pauillac, but damn this is actually a really good wine. Most Kirkland stuff for me ends up being budget weeknight drinkers: nothing special, but nailed the style at a great price. This is one I'm going back for more bottles of for sure. Seems like the producer might be Brane-Cantenac?
Notes:
On the nose there's cassis, blackberry, cedar, graphite, florals, green bell pepper, tobacco, leather. Smells like there's some cab franc in there for sure.
Palate is more cassis and blackberry, green bell pepper, some tart red fruits, light vanilla.
Nose is surprisingly pronounced. Palate is less complex than the nose but there's good acidity. Tannins are high but not harsh. The finish is the only thing I'd say is lacking here but it's still a solid medium.
The bottle said to decant but I found mine very expressive right away, this was a pop and pour. I'll see how it evolves over the afternoon.

The back label might mention the producer/bottler.
Ha. I didn’t pick this one up but got the Brunello for $23 today. Will need to see how well that is. They were also out of the ($18) Barolo which has had its fair share of praise as well.
Great review, thank you! The KS St Emilion impressed me and the Pauillac tasted like a $20 bottle of wine….excited to hear this is good. Once it’s available in my area I’ll probably grab 6. Try the KS Brunello – I drink mostly Bordeaux but this blew me away for the price.
Any idea what the item number is?
junk wine is cheap
Thought about grabbing this one today but I’m trying to cut back on wine spending pretty hard right now. Originally the produce was a second growth although its reputation suffered and it has changed hands a few times. Reminds me a bit of some of the history behind the very inexpensive, VERY good Sauternes my Costco Carrie’s around Thanksgiving.
Interesting. Opened the Kirkland 2023 Pauillac last night and it was mediocre at best. Will keep an eye out for this one.
I haven’t had this yet, and generally I don’t buy any of the Kirkland wines, but as a whole they do a really good job at value for price. That is only going to get better as there is so much amazing wine unsold in the bulk market form which they’ll be able to draw and offer great value to its members. It was just announced that 30% of Sonoma’s crop went unsold this vintage. Vintners in Napa are literally giving their fruit away to hobby wine makers and if you go on [WineBusiness.com](http://WineBusiness.com) and take a look at the bulk sales, there is depressingly good deals on unlabeled wine and unsold fruit. This is happening around the world too.
The Kirkland Premier Cru Chablis is legit, as well. It’s tonight’s pull for a white dinner wine paired with pork chops and apple sauce!
Nice

Couldn’t find this in SF Bay Area Costco’s unfortunately
Awesome. Saw this today and will go back to pick some up. They also had Kirkland Pauillac 2023 for same price.
I remember when I was a kid (Millenial), off brand generic items meant subpar and noticebly degraded quality. Everything I’ve ever Kirkland Signature Item i’ve EVER picked up has been really good quality for an amazing price.
I’ve never explored their [wine list,](https://costcowineblog.com/the-definitive-guide-to-costcos-kirkland-signature-wines/) I figured it was an area they may have overstepped but.. Now I will. Thanks OP
Dude you’ve got Thanos size hands.
Living in a state with no costco alcohol sucks.
Even though I live in Europe, everytime I see these Kirkland Signature posts I feel like I’m missing out over here. Is there a French / EU alternative to this? I could only think of some négociants but they are mainly focused on one or a few regions, so I suppose an aggregate of négociants such as Guigal, Louis Jadot, la Chablisienne, etc. would be the equivalent?
