Welcome to Penrose Learning, where we make understanding easy. In this video, I will explain how to make hummus with red pepper. First, gather all your fresh ingredients, as quality components are key to a delicious dip. We’ll start by preparing the star of our dish, the vibrant red peppers, ensuring they are perfectly roasted for maximum flavor. Then, we’ll combine everything in a food processor to create that wonderfully smooth and creamy texture everyone loves. Finally, we’ll discuss how to serve and garnish your homemade hummus. Let’s begin by roasting our red peppers. Slice two red bell peppers in half. Then, carefully remove all the seeds and the white pith inside. Place them on a baking sheet, cut side down, and roast them in an oven preheated to 400° F for about 15 to 20 minutes or until they are tender and slightly charred. Once roasted, let them cool. Then, easily peel off the skins. Now it’s time to blend our hummus. In a food processor, combine one can of drained chickpeas, your roasted red peppers, two tablespoons of creamy tahini paste, and two minced cloves of garlic. Next, squeeze in the fresh juice from one half of a lemon. These ingredients form the flavorful base of our delicious red pepper hummus. Blend all the ingredients until the hummus is wonderfully creamy and smooth. If it’s too thick, add 2 to 3 tablesp of water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt or to your taste. Transfer your homemade hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and fresh parsley. Enjoy.
