Ingredients (makes about 7–8 large meatballs):
500 g ground meat (beef, pork & veal in equal parts)
65 g white bread (≈ 2 slices)
135 ml milk
50 g parmesan cheese, grated
45 g shallot (≈ 1)
½ bunch fresh parsley, chopped
30 g olive oil (≈ 2 tbsp)
2 tsp salt
Other ingredients for the sandwich:
Bread, preferably Schiacciata
Roasted garlic butter
Fior di latte
Tomato sauce
Fresh basil
Parmesan cheese, for grating
